‘Hare Today…’ embroidery hoop

The Hare is native to Ireland and is associated with the magic of the Spring tides, and the Moon. Hares are fast and strong, instinctive survivors knowing when to pause and when to run. The Hare teaches us to trust our instincts, to know when to be still and when to act.

I make a lot of hares in my art; I love their ears and their expressive faces, in particular their eyes. They are such fun to stitch! You can find some of my other hare art on these pages; ‘Vision’ original textile artworkHare greeting cardHare ,  The Hare embroidery hoop

This Wildlife Hoop Art, ‘Hare Today’,  is in a 6 inch embroidery hoop backed with felt for a smooth finish. It comes with a ribbon hanger, which can be removed if you prefer to prop it up instead.

It is made from an acrylic painting onto cotton fabric, which I then sew over with threads and my sewing machine, gradually building up the layers until I am happy with the way it looks. I then cut it out and applique it to the background fabric before framing it with the hoop.

It is very tactile and the beauty of the hoop is that you can touch it as much as you want!

Enjoy your wildlife hoop art anywhere in your home, but hang out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.
